UP BEAT FUTURES is a community led organisation that works in partnership with the Up Strum Guitar Club. Founded in 2017 its primary aim is to help support musical projects in East Sussex, particularly Hastings, St Leonards and Ore. Since fundraising began UP BEAT FUTURES has helped young people experience music through rock schools, workshops, providing equipment, discounted and free lessons.

UP BEAT FUTURES received funding from the lottery community fund in 2017 and kitted out Sandown Primary School's music room with equipment for a  (pay if you can) school of rock club - including an electronic drum kit, amps, electric and bass guitars as well as  PA speakers.

It also reached across to Robsack Wood community centre, providing places for the guitar club.

The mission statement is to make music available to everyone regardless of their circumstances at home.

UP BEAT FUTURES has seen hundreds of children try new instruments including the electric drums, electric guitars, and other unusual instruments. (such as the stylophones and loop pedals - providing the sonic backdrop for daydream projects )

UP BEAT FUTURES has funded children's guitar lessons and equipment . Scholarships are rewarded if circumstances at home are difficult but enthusiasm is easy!

COVID19 response.

UP BEA T FUTURES helped fund some virtual guitar lessons during this period as well as shipping out guitars and tuners for children to work on at home.  Further funding will enable guitar lessons for those in harder to reach areas of Hastings.
